Central Elections Committee chairman, Justice Joubran declares that the Prime Minister's speech to the American Congress will not be broadcast live, but with a 5-minute delay (February 16, 2015)
According to the law, voters who on Elections Day are located at a distance of 20km or more from their designated polling stations are elligible for free transportation to their polling stations. A free travel voucher will be given directly to the voter who presents either his/her identity card and its appendix with a current address, or his/her driver's license together with the voter's notification card that is delivered by mail.
The information will be publicized in a public announcement here on the website and in the press closer to elections day.
The video voter's guide, called "Kolo shek Kol" will be broadcast on channels 1, 2, and 10. The specific times of their broadcast will be posted on the website and in the press. The video will also be available to watch on the website.
The Central Elections Committee will be running telephone information centers for the public - for questions and clarifications regarding one's elligibility to vote and the location of his/her polling station. The phone call to the centers will be free of charge and will be accessible for persons with physical limitations.
The schedule of the centers, languages available, and phone numbers will be posted in the press and on the website.
What is called a "white ballot" or an empty ballot is present in the polling station for a voter to use if the printed ballot of his/her choice is missing (has run out). According to the Elections Law, the voter may use an empty ballot to write by hand the letters that represent the list s/he wishes to vote for. An empty ballot with no writing that was placed into the ballot envelope will be considered an invalid vote and will not be counted.
No, you do not have to present the notification card at the polling station.
The notification card is sent to let the voter know the number and location of his/her designated polling station. It also contains the voter's list-number at the polling station and his/her citizen's ID number. Bringing the card together with one's identification document makes it quicker to be identified, but it is not necessary.
One who has not received a voting card may check the location of his/her polling station at the site https://kalpi.elections.gov.il/.
The only valid means of identification at the polling station are as follows:
There are accessible and special accessible polling stations for people with mobility disabilities.
The accessible stations were set up in buildings and locations that were checked and held up to standards for accessibility.
If a voter cannot vote at his/her designated polling station because it is not accessible, s/he can vote at any one of the "special" accessible polling stations set up by the Central Elections Committee.
The list of special accessible polling stations is available on the website at http//bechirot.gov.il/election/English/Kneset20/Pages/SpecialAvailableKalpies_eng.aspx
Also, the telphone information centers which will open close to elections day will have this information available. The schedule of the information center, languages, and phone numbers will be posted in a public announcement on this website and in the press.
It is recommended to vote in the morning at your local designated polling station before you travel to the IDF recruitment center. The local civilian polling stations are meant to open at 7:00AM. If you cannot vote there, then you will be allowed to vote at the recruitment center using a double envelope.
